Welcome to my stop on this Blog Tour for the release of 88 NORTH (Nadia Laksheva Spy Thriller #3) by J.F. Kirwan.
I would like to say that it is truly my pleasure to be invited onto this blog tour! Particular thanks to Rachel @ Rachel’s Random Resources and J.F. Kirwan who gifted me an early copy of 88 NORTH (Nadia Laksheva Spy Thriller #3). I am forever grateful and promise that the review below is 100% honest and of my own views.
To kick off, we have the “blurb” for the book;
The deadliest kind of assassin is one who is already dying…
As the radiation poisoning that Nadia Laksheva was exposed to in Chernobyl takes hold of her body, she knows she has mere weeks to live. But Salamander, the terrorist who murdered her father and sister has a deadly new plan to ‘make the sky bleed’. Nadia is determined to stop him again, even if it is the last thing she ever does…
The only clue she has are the coordinates 88˚ North, a ridge in the Arctic right and one of the largest oil fields in the world, three thousand metres below the ice. If Salamander takes hold of the oil field, he could change the climate of the whole planet for generations to come.
But can Nadia stop him before her own time runs out?
So, want to know what I thought?
I’m rather sad that this series has come to an end 😦 I have been feeding my hunger for more spy thrillers of late and the Nadia Laksheva trilogy has not disappointed. If anything, it has opened up a new sub-genre for me that I am eager to continue to explore.
As from the blurb – Nadia is in a race against time to stop Salamander before she succumbs to the radiation poisoning. Be warned! There is a fair amount of violence in this instalment – but it lends itself to the story and is not over the top for the sake of it. The way it has been written gives us all the detail and action of the scene, without it becoming gratuitous purely for the shock factor.
A great ending to what has been a superb trilogy! I am looking forward to reading more of J.F.Kirwan’s work in the future!
