This weeks movie is one of my all time favourite guilty pleasures….
THE DUFF (2015)
Directed by; Ari Sandel
You may be wondering what the chuff a ‘DUFF’ is?
Which Mae Whitman (yes, the same Mae Whitman who plays the Presidents daughter in Independence Day!) is certainly not by the way! If I was HALF as cool as her, I’d be a happy lady!
I’m not usually a fan of American high school rom-coms, but this seems to tick a lot of boxes for me. Brilliant characters (Alison Janney plays Bianca’s mother and is HILARIOUS!), a great plot and has NOTHING to do with it starring Robbie Amell. Nothing at all. Nope. It’s ALL about the acting….
This movie is based on the book of the same name. I read the book AFTER watching the movie and was taken back at how much the story had changed. But I enjoyed both regardless.
I’m also a sucker for a happy ending!
