HERO (Morgan Brothers #3) by Lauren Rowe
Published; February 1st 2018, SoCoRo Publishing
A standalone contemporary romance in the MORGAN BROTHERS SERIES from USA Today Bestselling Author Lauren Rowe. The story of firefighter Colby Morgan that proves heroes come in many forms . . .
The first time I laid eyes on Lydia Decker, I couldn’t speak. Or breathe. Or string two coherent thoughts together.
And I don’t mean any of that figuratively.
I’m not talking about a guy being floored by the sight of a gorgeous woman—although, of course, Lydia is gorgeous beyond words.
No, when I first laid eyes on Lydia Decker—my physical therapist—I was lying flat on my back in the ICU, high as a kite on painkillers, breathing on a ventilator, my bones as broken and splintered as my spirit.
When I first laid eyes on Lydia Decker, she was a ray of light in the dark. Hope for the hopeless. A salve for my singed and battered soul.
She said she’d been assigned to fix me. That she was there to bring me back to life. She said helping me was her calling.
And then she touched me. Physically, emotionally, spiritually. She healed me.
And I fell in love.
But what I didn’t know… what I couldn’t possibly know… was that Lydia Decker needed fixing far more than I ever did.
THE CLUB was my first venture into the works of Lauren Rowe and I frigging LOVED the book. The writing style, the characters, the plot. Everything had me hooked and I suffered with a rather large book hangover when I finished it.
Fast forward a couple of months and I see that Lauren is releasing her next novel in the Morgan Brothers series; HERO. Not going to lie or dress this up – I was instantly drawn in by the book cover! Something about a chap in a uniform…granted it’s only half of the uniform….but you know where I’m going with this!
To say I was gutted this was the third book in the series is an understatement. I always want to read the books that are so far down the line that I know I’ll do myself a disservice if I didn’t read from the beginning. I want to be able to go on the journey with the characters and understand their life and relationships. Then something funny happened…. We were told that to truly get the most of the Morgan Brothers series…start with book three!! Suited me just fine and I got myself stuck in!
WOW! I honestly LOVED this book! I’d already pegged it as a five star read before I’d even finished. I’m not normally a huge fan of ‘insta-love’ as it can sometimes come across really corny and too mushy (even for me!). But in HERO – I ate every word! I loved not only reading the chemistry between Lydia and Colby, but all of the supporting relationships with the Morgan family and Lydia’s children….gah! It was too much for my heart to handle!
I cannot wait to read CAPTAIN and BALL PEEN HAMMER!! I need more of the Morgan Brothers in my life!
