SPENCER (Not Your Average British Romance #1) by Kerry Heavens

@TheSpencerRyan exudes confidence,
I mean, have you seen him???
His dark good looks and tattooed muscled perfection are too much.
He’s hot. Lickably hot.
And he has a way with words that leaves me breathless.
But cocky doesn’t even cover it,
this guy is so arrogant you have to fight back.
But God he’s so lickable!
The thing is though,
he looks like sex but he’ll taste like jackass.
@OMGJazzyP is a sexy, annoying ball of rage in fuck-me heels
and she hates me.
Although her nipples would tend to disagree.
It’s a deadly combination.
She’s a princess.
And when I say princess, I mean intolerable, spoiled brat with a tiara.
Sure she’s got that curvaceous goddess thing going on,
but that mouth of hers…
God it needs something in it to shut it up.
This is not your average British romance.
It’s a tale of high heels, hot tattooed bad boys and
sex oranges, all wrapped up in a coating of chocolate.
It’s ‘love’ in a social media world,
where not everyone is who they seem
and where some people’s bios should carry a warning.
I was first introduced to Kerry Heavens after having my ear chewed off by fellow Turner *M* who had recently finished this cheeky little romance called SPENCER. She was very passionate about the characters and the story…team that with visiting Kerry at RARE in London this year and I was intrigued!
My first thoughts on Spencer were exactly as *M* described. A total dickhead. Full of himself, thinking himself a z-list celebrity and gods gift to women. That opinion of him sticks with me for the majority of the book. The way he talks and behaves around women is enough to make any sensible female look the other way, but this is part of his charm. He has something… or be it someone in his sights and he is pretty straightforward in chasing it.
Jazz however is the opposite of Spencer. Not a pushover in the slightest (in fact a certain scenario at the beginning of the book plays out better than I imagined!) but a woman who isn’t interested in the online fame that Spencer has – even choosing a picture of shoes as her Twitter avatar! She is certainly a match for Spencer and some of the ‘conflicting’ moments were some of the characters shining moments!
That tagline to this book is ‘Not Your Average British Romance’ and never a truer word has been spoken! I loved the different approach in using social media as it makes the story relatable to how people meet each other now! Now, the ending of this book…I kind of guessed what was going to happen, but that’s not to mean it didn’t hit me right in the feels. I nearly cried at the bus station! Having being introduced to Will in this book, I am looking forward to reading his story next!
