When meeting authors at RARE London this year there was so much choice of books to buy, it was hard to choose but it is safe to say I made some excellent choices. COWSEX is one of those books that you come to without prior knowledge of the author or any expectations from the story.
But I made the right choice. Not only is Lesley Jones a friendly, open and approachable author, she’s talented to boot. Reading this book I found myself very steadily falling for these characters, a young English woman going on an adventure into the cowboy country, where low and behold she meets her very own country cowboy. This is an unlikely couple, a man who is deliciously handsome and a woman with every ounce of British sarcasm.
The story is done well, no faffing about here, straight to the nitty gritty and plenty of sexual chemistry too. This isn’t a book that is pure filth, far from it. Instead with a very romantic story of two people falling in love, with a few steamy scenes added to the mix. I mean come on, you can’t have a novel called COWSEX without some sex.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading my first venture into Lesley Jones’ world and will most definitely be seeking out a few more additions of her work to my book shelves.
