The chance to read a story by Kylie Scott and Audrey Carlan could not be passed up for us here at the P Turners blog and one that is so relevant to a situation that we have all found ourselves in.
Love Under Quarantine is a modern tale of love under the worst circumstances, two people drawn together when the world is at odds with everything. We’re currently living in a world where we cannot go about our daily lives anymore, we’re locked in bubbles of quarantine across the globe and need to find other outlets for escaping.
This novel, a joint venture by two very talented writers, is the perfect read to escape into. Sure the world for these characters hits very close to home, even bringing us to tears, but it is also very refreshing. To see two characters come together in such dire straits is hopeful. We instantly fall in love with Sadie and Evan, with their personalities, the way they handle every situation thrown at them and their growing relationship.
I was dubious about reading a story set in today’s world, unsure if I could really believe in characters that were facing what we all face today in the real world. But boy did I love every minute of this story, every passing glance across balconies, every shared smile and knowing eye. Evan is the perfect male lead, handsome, smart and with a body made to sin. Sadie is every bit the sassy, witty, beautiful and charismatic female I love in romance novels.
All I can say to these amazing authors is, thank you. Thank you for giving us a story that reminds us to be hopeful, that during these tragic times we can find bubbles of peace and that really love does prevail above all else.
