Hello and welcome to our stop on the Blood And Steel blog tour!
Thank you very much to Emma @ Damppebbles and Stuart Field for providing a copy of the book to [K]
The review below is 100% honest and all of her own views.
After a young woman is found dead in her apartment, Detective John Steel is brought in. A British cop working with the NYPD, he is a man with unique talent for finding trouble and winding up his partner, Detective Samantha McCall.
Soon, another woman goes missing, and the duo must find out why. But there is a cost: the dead woman is the girlfriend of one their own, and the missing woman may have something the killer wants.
As the clock ticks, the investigation runs deeper and an old enemy shows his face. Will any of them see the end of this alive?
Published in paperback format by Next Chapter Books on 23rd July 2020 and in digital format on 9th August 2020.
A grisly discovery is made. A body of a woman is found in her apartment. In strides John Steel and the team to investigate.
Thrown right into the thick of things, we are drawn back into the British detective’s action packed world and reunited with the team. They try to unravel the mystery to her death, as the investigation progresses and more information surfaces, things get more tangled.
Building on from the previous books in the series, the personality and background of the characters keeps growing with each tale. I found this to be a brilliantly written and well described story, settling back into the team with regular familiarity. After reading book 3 and thought that was a twisty thriller but book 4, wow, I needed to take breaks just to catch my breath to keep up with the break pace of everything that was going on!
This is book 4 in the John Steel series, but is only the second book I have read. I now itching to go back to the start of the series to find out how it all started.
If you love a fast paced detective thrillers with a strong lead characters, you will love this series
Stuart Field was born in the UK, in the West Midlands. He spent his early years in the army, seeing service in all the known (and some unknown) hotspots around the world. He now lives in Germany with his wife Ani. When not engaged in highly confidential security work, he writes thrillers which perhaps mimic his life-experience more than the reader would like to believe.
