#BlogTour | #BookReview | CASINO CHISELER (ALEX COHEN #4) by Leopold Borstinski @borstinski #CasinoChiseler #AlexCohenSeries (September 30th 2020) @damppebbles #damppebblesblogtours

Hello and welcome to our stop on the Casino Chisler blog tour!

Thank you very much to Emma @ Damppebbles and Leopold Borstinski for providing a copy of the book to [K]

The review below is 100% honest and all of her own views.

Blurb:

Would you gamble everything you possess to win more than you can imagine?

Jewish gangster, Alex Cohen leaves jail to find salvation from the 1940s mob in the hotels of Las Vegas. When Bugsy Siegel invites him to take over sports betting in Nevada, Alex must figure out how to get back to the top table in New York without attracting the Feds’ attention.

If he succeeds then he will regain his self respect, but if he fails then the last members of the national crime syndicate will cut him dead and he will be left a nobody or wind up a corpse. And after he bumps into his childhood sweetheart, he has a once in a lifetime opportunity to win her heart. But Alex knows the criminal underworld has the habit of spilling over into his personal life and when Meyer Lansky asks him to murder Siegel, Alex must choose what is truly important to him.

The fourth book in the Alex Cohen series is an historical thriller novel, which rips open the Jewish mob’s involvement in the birth of modern Vegas. Leopold Borstinski’s shattering crime fiction deals a royal flush to each reader.

Review:

I could not wait to get my hands on book 4 to see what has happened to Alex Cohen since the events in book 3.

Since leaving prison, Alex has the opportunity to participate in looking after a friends sports betting organisation in the West of America.

In book 4 we meet some new characters and are reunited with some old faces in this fourth book in Alex’s life in the US.

Again this was a well written novel in the series, fast paced with short chapters that I devoured quickly. Whilst Alex’s character is familiar to me now, I am still impressed with the smoothness of his conversation, proving himself a more gentleman gangster than the violent criminals we have come to expect as portrayed in the media.

For now I put away my betting slips and what is left of my poker chips until I meet Alex again in book 5
