Wow, what happened to February?!

Hope you had a good one? Did you have a loved up this month or loving doing your own thing?

I have had another busy weekend, went to London over the weekend (which crept up on me despite it being booked for a good six months!) So yet again playing catch up on the blog and social media, unfortunately which is also being hampered by the new wifi router needing to settle in (urgh!)

If you aren’t already following us, please give us a like and comment, we would love to hear from you!

How are you finding the new features of Throwback Thursday and the monthly book bag?

I do maybe have another idea, but it is very much in the brainstorming phase

Is there anything else that you would like to see on the blog?

Let us know in the comments below!

FINALLY its February!

I’m not sure about you, but January seemed to last forever!

Did you have a good January or happy that its now into the shortest month?

I have had a fairly busy weekend so now I am just playing catch up on the blog and social media.

If you aren’t already following us, please give us a like and comment, we would love to hear from you!

How are you finding the new features of Throwback Thursday and the monthly book bag?

Wow, can you believe it is January already?!

What happened to December?

I have had a few new ideas for the blog one of which has already appeared and the other which will be appearing later today.

But for now I will kick off with sharing my bookish haul over my Christmas and birthday (it was in November, apologies I’ve been a little slack in sharing) season. (This is my first photo for the blog so please be gentle with me!) My friends definitely know me well!

Have you read any of these books? Did you receive any bookish gifts over the holidays?

August Wrap Up & September TBR

I think my initial target of reading the below 12 books was on more of the optimistic side. I knew that I had a week off at the end of the month, and although I had every plan of reading – I think I slept more than I read!! Whoops.

Saying that, I still managed to finish 7 books in August, which is pretty good going for me considering the number out ‘out of work’ stuffs I’ve had going on; renovating the house, friends visiting, camping trips, changing jobs…that’s just in a nutshell! It’s felt like a pretty full on month.

But enough of that, let me take you throught the books I completed and those I plan on reading in September!

NEED YOU DEAD by Peter James

LAST STOP TOKYO by James Buckler

I haven’t yet completed my reviews for the books below – I can’t wait to share my thoughts with you on these. Especially INSIDIOUS INTENT, which had me trying to explain to my other half how a book can leave you in floods of tears!!

LOVE ME NOT by M.J. Arlidge

THE DRY by Jane Harper

There is some overspill from the August TBR, which I am still really keen on reading this month. I am also taking part in FOUR blog tours!! Details below! The first hits the page on September 4th for the new Liz Mistry novel; UNTAINTED BLOOD.

MARIA IN THE MOON by Louise Beech

HOUSE OF SPINES by Michael J. Malone

FINAL GIRLS by Riley Sager

I’m hoping that I can get through these books and have room to add a couple of cheeky ones in there. There are so many books on my TBR which have been there for far too long now! Why can’t I get my salary for reading books full time?!

Have you read any of the books on my wrap up & TBR? What are your thoughts?

I would love to know in the comments.

Happy reading!!

#WomensHistoryMonth – A Month of Literary Celebration

March celebrates Women’s History Month. It highlights the contributions of women to events in history and contemporary society.

Here at The P.Turners Book Blog – we wanted to celebrate WHM by celebrating some of our favourite female authors who we feel have not only shaped the world of literature, but also how it has affected our own taste in reading.

Each of us will take a week in March to share with you our thoughts. Authors ranging from J.K. Rowling to Sylvia Day, E.L. James to Harper Lee and Agatha Christie to Enid Blyton!

Now, this isn’t a “this female author is better than that one” – quite the contrary, there are just so many to mention!Β If we were to feature ALL of the female authors on Earth, then we may be here some time!

As always, we would love to hear your thoughts and whether you agree or disagree with our choices.

Here is how the month will look for posting;
