Blurb:

Cormoran Strike is back, with his assistant Robin Ellacott, in a mystery based around soldiers returning from war.

When a mysterious package is delivered to Robin Ellacott, she is horrified to discover that it contains a woman’s severed leg.

Her boss, private detective Cormoran Strike, is less surprised but no less alarmed. There are four people from his past who he thinks could be responsible – and Strike knows that any one of them is capable of sustained and unspeakable brutality.

With the police focusing on the one suspect Strike is increasingly sure is not the perpetrator, he and Robin take matters into their own hands, and delve into the dark and twisted worlds of the other three men. But as more horrendous acts occur, time is running out for the two of them…

Career of Evil is the third in the series featuring private detective Cormoran Strike and his assistant Robin Ellacott. A mystery and also a story of a man and a woman at a crossroads in their personal and professional lives.

Reading Challenge Review 2016 📚

‘Career of Evil’ by #RobertGalbraith

This is the third instalment of Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacott. Robin receives a woman’s severed leg in the post. It is then up to he team to discover who sent the leg, is the victim still alive and are there any others?

This was a great novel and allowed for more background into Robin. I’m so glad we get that now, rather than having it all in the first book! I’m also over the moon to read in the back of this book that a TV series in the works!! Another great crime novel from Rowling!

Would highly recommend this for fans of crime fiction. Impatiently waiting for the next book!

I loved a good who dunnit that keeps you guessing until the very last page and Career of Evil certainly does that.

I love how the Cormoran Strike series although mainly crime has a romantic story running through with the will they won’t they that exsists between Strike and his partner Robin.

I found I easily got engrossed in this story and couldn’t stop turning the pages eager to discover who the culprit was and how he would be caught.

We learn alot more about Strike in this story and how he became who he is as well bits about his past and people he has come across that maybe explain some of how he became such a great detective.

I honestly had no idea throughout this story who the killer was. We are given 3 names and slowly learn the reasons Strike suspects them but at no point did I convince myself I knew who it was. There are constant twists and turns and this book takes us on a proper ride that we never want to get off.

Overall a cracker of a crime novel that you CANNOT put down until you get to the end!
