Hello and welcome to our stop on the Tested By Fire blog tour!
Thank you very much to Emma @ Damppebbles and David Costa for providing a copy of the book to [K]
The review below is 100% honest and all of her own views.
Blurb:
Two terrorist Ideologies combine forces to assassinate the British Prime Minister and kill hundreds of innocent people on the streets of a British City. To hunt them down and eliminate them, David Reece leads a Black Ops team known as The Department or SG9 the killing arm of MI6. Time is short and acting on the information received by Reece from an agent from his past, he knows they must play by Big Boys Rules, kill or be killed.
Review:
Set in present day, this story makes reference to the past to help the reader understand the characters motives for doing what they are doing and what encouraged them to this point in their lives.
I found this a very clever read, fast paced and keeping you on your toes until the explosive events happen. I felt I was actually a minor character at the heart of a modern day spy thriller, at the back of the team, experiencing things with SG9 as they endevour to stop the terrorists reaching their goals and causing chaos and destruction. Now espionage/military thrillers never used to be a read for me, but the more I read this genre the more I love them, with this appearing top of my ‘to recommend’ pile.
I wholly recommend you pick up this book. Infact once I finish this review I’m off to encourage my friends to pick this up who I know will love this as much as I did.
I do hope we will read more of David Reece and his team soon, going head to head with the bad guys to keep the UK safe.
