31st January rocks up and I think "I must post our thoughts and Sense and Sensibility as January is now at an end!". I seem to have blinked and we're now on the 7th February?! 😱 . When did THAT happen?! January seems to have flown by very quickly this year. Does anyone else feel the same? 😬 . When @paperbackbones and @alchemyandink announced at the back end of 2018 they were hosting a Jane Austen bookclub for the first half of 2019, we were immediately keen to get involved. We certainly don't read enough classic fiction and this was a great way to rectify that! 😎 . SENSE AND SENSIBILITY was the first read and both myself and [K] had similar thoughts in regards to the writing style and how the women were portrayed. You can find our full review on the blog page. My word! It feels like I've been reading SLEEPING beauties for a little while now... which to be fair I have! You can never rush a 700+ page Stephen King novel! 😁 . Picked up as part of my #BeatTheBacklist reading challenge, this book has been on my shelf now since the day it was released. I remember rushing to the bookshop after work to get my copy... only to leave it languishing on my shelf 😫 . I was certainly not disappointed once I got stuck into the story. A slow burning horror fantasy which sees the world's female population fall asleep! 😱 . What I loved so much about this story was how you can take some of the themes from the ‘real world’ and with certain scenes and writing can be turned into horror. Each female character has their own unique back story and how they react. From a feminist point of view, it makes for an outstanding read!! 🙌 . What's your favourite Stephen King read? 📚

The time has come once again! RARE19 is coming to London Olympia! Over 160 authors from all aspects of romance fiction coming together in one place for a day of books, boys, books and more! 😍 . Naturally after all the fun *M* and I had at the event in February 2018, it was only right that we book tickets again! It's then also right that we hold the first of three #RAREReadathons 😎 . We hold these readathons as a great way for attendees to discover the authors signing, and keep the hype up before the big day! Our first event is happening on SATURDAY 9th FEBRUARY kicking off at 12am (GMT) 😁 . . Hope you can join us!! Have you ever participated in a 24 hour readathon? 📚

We have spent the last few weeks planning readalongs and challenges for 2019 and we are pleased to announce our quarterly #PTurnersBookClub 😎 . Each quarter, we have chose a book to #buddyread and invite you all to read with us and join the conversation! Each of us has chosen a book which is outside our normal genres and books that have been on our shelves a while! 📚 . We are kicking this off in February with Sooz's choice; A LITTLE LIFE by Hanya Yanagihara. Throughout the month we will be discussing key themes in the book and will end the month with a #giveaway 😱 . Hope you can join us!! 📚

I find that after reading so many books of the same genre, I try and break it up by reading something of an opposite genre. 📚 . With this mind and after reading three crime fiction novels back to back and learning of this new release, I opted for THE KISS THIEF by L.J. Shen ❤ . Francesca has been promised to Angelo, the heir to one of Chicago's most powerful families. That was until Wolfe Keaton bulldozes his way into her life. A Senator with ambitions to clear the city of organised crime. By securing Francesca as his future bride, he can start to make that ambition reality..but not without its hiccups along the way 😱 . THE KISS THIEF is again proof in the pudding that LJ Shen has the magic when it comes to writing 'Enemies to Lovers' romance 😍 . We're only eight days into 2019 and I've given my first FIVE STAR review! ⭐ . DEEP DIRTY TRUTH is the third instalment in the Lori Anderson series by Steph Broadribb. Taking place after the events from the second book, Lori has 48 hours to free a Mob member from FBI custody. If she fails, she dies. 😱 . I’ve said it before and I’ll continue to say it until there is a court order against it… I think I’m a little bit in love with Lori Anderson! It’s very rare for me to have this kind of reaction to a female protagonist. My list of female heroes is rather short – Sarah Connor will always remain on the top stop, but Lori is a very close second. She’s a badass! 💪 .
