Ever since I was introduced to Jesse Ward in the THIS MAN series, *M* has made her personal mission to get me to read ALL of Jodi’s work and THE PROTECTOR is the one book that she has raved on at me the most about! Received as a gift for my birthday, it would have been rude not to delve straight in!
I firstly stand by all previous comments that this woman knows how to write!! Not just the plot, but the characters as well. It’s easy to get consumed by the emotion and depth of Jake and Camille. Both two sides of a coin with very different personalities and backgrounds, but work incredibly well as a pair.
As with all JEM novels, there is an almost thriller aspect to the story. The reason that Jake is recruited into helping Camille soon blows up in spectacular fashion, with both parties having to face some pretty ugly truths. The chemistry between the pair is enough to burn anyone that comes close and makes for a rather steamy read!
THE PROTECTOR is an ‘edge of your seat’ romance novel, with drama and action throughout! An absolute thrill to read and left me wanting more! That’s until I remind myself that Jake and Camille are coming to the big screen courtesy of Passionflix!
